From
the beginning, Team Howard has offered custom cabinetry to our clients. We not
only recommend the modular POS architecture design, we stand behind that decision
with innovative techniques that make the modular approach work for our clients.
This is an example of our wall mount cabinet. The Touchscreen shown is a 17”
model with a Magnetic Card Reader mounted on the right side. The printer is
an Epson TmT88 Thermal. This cabinet contains a Dell computer and a
UPS (battery backup). We use wire loom to conceal the wires (power,
video signal, USB etc.) that connect the computer to the Touchscreen and printer.
If your electrician puts the AC outlets in the cabinet as well, this turns out
to be a very clean design as there no wires to see. For mounting purposes; the
lower base of this cabinet is 17” wide.
Mount up!
There are many benefits when you mount your touchscreens on the wall.
• Wall mounted touchscreens need less repairs
• Wall mounted touchscreens are easier to use
• Wall mounted touchscreens are less likely to get wet
• “chin level” order entry translates into less mistakes.
Touchscreens at “belly level” have more mistakes due to depth perception
and calibration softness. Ideal height (center of screen) for a wall mounted
15” touchscreen is 58” vs. a 15” touchscreen placed on a counter
top (typically 36”H) will put the center of the touchscreen at 43”
which is 15” lower than the desired optimal height
• Wall mounted touchscreens don’t have objects dropped on
them. With counter level touchscreens, servers will naturally angle
the touchscreen to face the ceiling. Any piece of glass that faces the ceiling
is vulnerable to breakage or damage when items fall on it (coffee mug, butter
knife, cork screw, plate, wine bottle, car keys etc.) This is undisputable.
(Team Howard supports over 300 proprietary POS terminals and we replace
the touch glass on these terminals due to breakage all the time.)
• Wall mounted touchscreens do not have jewelry dragged across
them
• Wall mounted touchscreens do not get knocked off a counter top
• Our non-proprietary touchscreens have a wide
array of mounting options
• Your diners will see your screen saver or slide
show better on a wall mounted screen
Team Howard has never replaced a wall
mounted touchscreen due to broken
glass!
This is an example of our counter top cabinet. (13”W, 12”H, 15”D).
This simple design has great benefits. This cabinet holds and protects the touchscreen,
computer, and printer.
• When placed on a typical counter top (36”H) it puts the center
of a 15” touchscreen at approximately 54”-55” (see
benefits re: height above)
• Printer is out of harms way as most of it is covered
• Entire footprint is only 13” wide (including
the printer)
• Wires connecting the modular components are in the
rear and unnoticeable
At Team Howard, history has taught us the absolute benefits of wall mounted
touchscreens, that’s why Team Howard has more wall mounted touchscreens
than any of our competitors. This is just one of many examples of how Team Howard
uses our POS experience and knowledge to benefit our clients.
